Service area
The Morinville Volunteer Fire Department has been servicing the community since 1920 and officially formed an association in 1950.
The Fire Department services include the Town of Morinville and areas of Sturgeon County as an Emergency Response Partner with Mutual Aid agreements. They protect over 12,000 people in a jurisdiction that covers 450 square miles.
Their responsibilities include fire suppression, vehicle extrications, rescues, dangerous goods incidents, medical responses and fire prevention.
All of the personnel are competent, disciplined and proud community volunteers who attend weekly training, study programs and who keep the equipment in top condition. Fire crews, led by a captain, work as a team to get the job done!
